Differential Noise

Many Many moons ago. In the olden days of yore. There was a great debate between the builders over the backlash and noise of the differentials on the 4" Showman and Road Loco. Concerns were raised when the differentials were built and played with on the bench that the gears were creating a lot of noise.

Now that Crystal has done about 40 miles in total I can state that I have never heard the differential make any noise on the rally field. For note I sit at the left rear of the engine with my knees at the wheel so quite quite close to the differential.

Please when you are building the differential. Do not worry about the noise of the gears on the bench.
