R Trevithick nearly there !!
I have just about completed the engine, just the gear guards to be fitted , the water guage and a couple of missing pipes.
Fist job is a good test on air, then the big steam up !!!!
Roll on September when I get back to it

What a lovely engine. Done a great job there - the blue looks stunning and the lining sets it all off.
Well done - look forward to some pics when you're in steam.

Now that the paint colour is available I think we we will see a few more in the future.
Re: R Trevithick nearly there !!
I think you could be spot on there rob !!
I think the photos don't do the actual colour justice, or the gold striping..

Looks very good, interested to see the ashpan. I am building a road loco and the ashpan is stainless and I was wondering how you painted yours, or with what?

Hi Simon,
I used Plastikote Bar-B-Que paint (Silk finish) to coat the the ashpan, straight onto the metal, just the same as the smokebox.
Its a lovely paint giving easy coverage, and very hard wearing.

Yes mate !!
Straight on to the bare steel, then I baked it in a large Bar - B-Que for an hour.

Wow Malcolm,
Great job, it doesn't seem 5 minutes since you started it.
Keep up the great work.

Cheers Dean,
Thanks to you and the team at STW, I could crack on with the machine. I really appreciate all the help with getting my kits out at short notice.
I guess that building the 2" engine first made this one seem much easier, defo did not suffer with sore fingers like I did on "Rosie" construction....
Thats not to say that I didnt make the odd cock up with this one tho :-) ...
I look forward to seeing you on the Saturday at the Great Dorset Show.
