Hornplates Empty Hornplates

Post  MrStationHouse Sun 18 Mar 2012, 8:01 pm

One of the advantages of being somewhat behond is to be able learn from those ahead of you!

In which vane, have people painted all of the hornplates (inside and out) plus specatacle plates before putting the bearings etc in, or just the inside.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Simon

I painted my hornplates both sides then attached to engine one side first. then attach the axil tubes then the final side. No scuffs or dings. Painted spec plates seperatly but was sparing with the paint on the edges so as not to effect the width.
