Rust in the end
Hi
Can any of you guys pleaes tell me if you have had RUST in your tenders.
As I was at a show today and the eninge ran like the clappers ,then carmed down and ran like silk,
But used up all the water in the boiler and would not put any in from my tender .
In the end we puled out the fier box and shut it down found out that the tender is full of rust
and I will have to pull it all apart to get at it ..In tghe end NOT good .But he did run nice ???
Can anyone help please

Re: Rust in the end
Hi Hugh,
Did you seal the inside of your tender or just leave it as the bare metal ??.
regards
Andy

Hi Andy
Yes it was sealed up But my mate thinks that there was a bit missed .
The tender is now off and looking to put rust killer in it

Re: Rust in the end
Hi Hugh,
I have given the inside of my tender 3 coats of isoflex plus an extra coat over the fixings to try and ensure that i have protected all of it. I also used the isoflex primer to get good adhesion of the first coat. I guess time will tell.
regards

Rust in tenders
Hugh,
May seem like a silly question, but are you emptying your tender after every steaming ???,
I was debating if it might be better to leave the tender full of water (as long as you have added the water treatment )
Any one else any thoughts on the matter..
Malcolm
