Freelander 2
Do NOT ever buy a Freelander2.
In the last year (3rd Year) and less than 30k miles on the clock.
Replaced
Rear brakes £250
Handbrake shoes and cams £150
Rear Differential £1700
and now to top it off.
Defective Clutch. Requiring pressure plate, thrust bearings, master and slave cylinders and Flywheel. Best price so far £850.

Good job it's still under warrantee Land-Rovers are like Marmite you either love em or you hate em, i'm just waiting delivery of my second Range Rover sport the one with the 5ltr lump cant wait!!

That's 4x4's for you - alternator went on my Audi Allroad last week £600! - £304 alternator and £300 labour to take the front of the car off to replace.
Suspension compressor went last year - 10p piston ring which you are not allowed to buy from the manufacturer here in Kent means a new pump only available from Audi dealers £850 - fitting took one hour !!!!

Our 1995 Discovery is still going strong. There again, I do all the maintenance on it.

Yes I did let go of my 96 Disco which I was able to maintain myself. But at 180k and needing a new sub body it was getting tired.
