LH bearing Empty LH bearing

Post  Rickster Tue 01 Feb 2011, 11:04 pm

Hi Steve/Craig,

Afraid I have another problem! The left hand bearing top has been machined the wrong way round.

On mine there is an etched number 3 on each half of the bearing side. However the top half of the bearing has the oilers with the pin hols to the back of the engine i.e flip the oiler lids up from front to back whereas it should be the other way round as per the RH bearing and the isometric drawings.

I only noticed this when drilling out one of the lid pin holes as one of them was off centre.

It appears the whole bearing needs to be changed as it's machined as one item.

Any ideas ?

cheers
