Injector steam supply
Has anyone considered taking steam from the cylinder block region for the injector as in a Fowler to make it easier to use the injector when going uphill?

I can only imagine in scale sizes the problems it would cause.
Its a source of scale forming when not in steam that causes issues with injectors and steam valves.
I think it would be trying to solve a problem that doesn't really exist.

Re: Injector steam supply
Never had a hill thats long enough to worry about the injector, water pump on is normally plenty to overcome any loss on the agri while roading.

Re: Injector steam supply
Presumably when going up hill when you try to use the injector water is coming out of the steam supply?, surely at this point the water level is above the top of the gauge glass and there is no need to put anymore in the boiler? Find out where the bottom of the gauge glass is in relation to the firebox crown - I think you may find that while ever there is water showing in the glass the crown is covered.
