Kit Breakdown Empty Kit Breakdown

Post  Grier Sun 18 Mar 2018, 1:38 pm

So I am wondering about the Lyka kit breakdown and what to expect.

Stated Breakdown on Website................Actual Kits delivered
Kit 1 Main Chassis..................................Main Chassis
Kit 2 Steering........................................Steering
Kit 3 Diff & Drive Shaft...........................Diff & Drive Shaft
Kit 4 Wheels X2.....................................Rear Caliper Brackets, Rear Wheels, Rear Brake Disc
Kit 5 Wheels X2.....................................Front Wheels & Brake Disc
Kit 6 Boiler Deposit................................Springs
Kit 7 Springs.........................................Brake Calipers & Parking Brake Band
Kit 8 Body Chassis.................................Boiler Deposit
Kit 9 Brakes Front..................................Body Chassis & Plywood sides
Kit 10 Brakes Rear.................................Fuel & Water Tanks
Kit 11 Fuel & Water Tanks.......................?
Kit 12 Engine 1......................................?
Kit 13 Engine 2......................................?

Etc. Etc.

Could it be possible to get a new schedule of kits? And is there opportunity to accelerate the kits to make up some of the delay in kit production?

Just wondering?
Thank You,
Grier

Grier, Good idea! However, I would suggest that you email Steve/Dean direct and not rely on this forum for a response as I'm not entirely sure it either of them have the time to study/read this posting(s)!.

Hi Grier/Greg
"Could it be possible to get a new schedule of kits"
will this not spoil the surprise you get when opening your preseys? for me that is all part of the fun of building one of these delightful and majestic machines.

"is there opportunity to accelerate the kits to make up some of the delay in kit production?"
Well you should never under any circumstances attempt to try and rush perfection chaps just a big NO NO in engineering.

please ponder on the question "what am i going to do after i have completed my machine?" mope around or like me start another STW machine.

just as a final thought I haven't finished the first machine (a Showman's) as yet and am some 12 kits into a roller with trailer kits (2 different types) arriving almost weekly, it almost leaves you thinking take care in what you wish for or you to will have a pile of unopened boxes still to start.

Thank you Simon, there is some truth to what you say, however you certainly have heard the expression “Enquiring minds want to know” a famous trademarked expression from our tabloid “The National Enquirer”
