Tender paint
I have got to the point that I am going to isoflex the water tank in tender. I don't have kit 8 yet, or the injector pipe bracket for the side of the tender.
Can I paint the tender or will I need to Wait till I have completed kit 8 which is tender fittings, and the pipe bracket ?

Re: Tender paint
I think that most, me included, have sealed the tender before fitting the accessories. You just need to make sure that you tape up all the holes or keep them clear. There will be some extra things that might need extra treatment after they are fitted but you will have the main sealing done and this will be simple then. Hope this helps.

Re: Tender paint
That's what I'm thinking john.
Did you just primer and undercoat or top coat as well ??
I want to seal it up, as it may be a few weeks before I get kit 8 and the pipe bracket. Thanks for the reply.

Re: Tender paint
So you did as well, seal up before kit 8.
Did you do primer plus undercoat, as well as top coat ?

Re: Tender paint
Yes with mine I went the whole hog and did the final painting because I would have found it very difficult to get the linining on mine done if it was all assembled. I think that some of this depends on your colour scheme. I do have to be careful not to scratch it though.

Protecting threads
I've used the ends of cotton buds (with the plastic stalk) to protect the threads. Just cut the ends off and screw them into the small threads to keep them clean. They can be used several times before they are thrown away. Before spraying the cylinder block I used them a lot!
