Metric or imperial
Hi. Can someone tell me what type of spanners /Allen keys are needed for the build of a burrell agricultural ?metric or imperial ?
Also I'm interested to know what paints have worked best and where to purchase from ? I'm only going to be using black with some gold paint work on wheels. Is stove paint from b and q for the front end smoke box and chimney ? What type of paint to use on the rest ?

Re: Metric or imperial
Hi,
I'm building the 2inch burrell, i have found that the majority of nuts bolts etc are metric. As your looking g at the 4 inch, the larger fixings may not be. I have used Craftmaster coach enamel, direct from Craftmaster. The black paint for smokebox etc, ive used Plastikote satin black bbq paint.

Re: Metric or imperial
Thanks Mike. Have you used the craft master coach enamel on the boiler casing and tender / fire box ?
What about inside the tender ?

Re: Metric or imperial
Ive used the Craftmaster paint on boiler cleading, and the tender exterior. Tbe exterior of the firebox along ive used the plastikote paint. The interior of the tender is rubberised and sealed with isoflex. Once the top was put onto the tender tank, i used craftmaster.

Re: Metric or imperial
I've also used Craftmaster coach enamel, but have used one shot paint for the red and gold lining.
Tools wise you'll need from 4mm to 13 mm in the main, there are some larger but not many, Allan keys, a standard set will give you everything you'll need. All metric.
