Kit 6 and Kit 12

Morning all, have received kit 5 this morning, now just off to start it.
I have a questions regarding kit 6 and kit 12.
Kit 6, says" boiler deposit", kit 12, says "boiler payment"
Do you just get a invoice to pay and no kit to build those two months?
I'm sure someone can out here can inform what happens with those months.

On the boiler deposit and boiler payment, you get a invoice. So it gives you a bit more time on the previous kit. Or you can ring Isabelle and pay,andshe will send you a receipt.

the boiler is a hefty lump of copper and silver solder. The boiler deposit and payment months you don't get anything. But it's worth the wait as when it does arrive all the sub assemblies come together and it starts looking like an engine. In a geeky kind of way it's actually quite exciting.

Plus if you have had a kit then I'm going to get my flywheel any day

Thanks to both of you for replying. I know the boiler/firebox is a big lump, just wasn't sure what happened those months.
I'll get an invoice to pay though the post, I'm guessing and pay the normal way as if it was a kit?
I think by then, with the tender etc, I will have had, will have plenty to keep me out of mischief

Got the second rear wheel well on the way now. Will be dry fitting spokes, Tuesday, as out tomorrow.
Hopefully will get then stuck Tuesday too
First rear wheel completed and tyres stuck on, last week.

Hi Chas.....not had much time to work on the wheels until today due to work and family holiday....however for finished the first stage of dry fitting my first wheels...pics below...you got any pics  ?

Looking good pitpup, takes a while to build wheels.
Havent taken any more pics yet, will take some soon when second wheel done. Tuesday I expect. Will post them on my thread, My Burrell New Build

Ok so work on the final fit up of the wheel today.....what a fiddly job that and a little messy too. Think I'll have a break from doing the second one. Any tip on getting the rivet nuts tight...especially the ones on the outer rim.....

Hi, yes very fiddly! I put a little super glue around the hole before putting rivet bolt in. I used a screw driver to hold the nut on end of bolt,so it was straight, then started if off with another screw driver. I then used a small spanner, that I bent to follow bend of the spoke. I put thread lock on, after I had started the nut on the bolt, it seemed to have run down the threads.
Very fiddly but found it worked
I have chunky fingers and couldnt start them any other way.
Will be starting second wheel tomorrow and do it the same way again.

My finger ends are numb.....will be good to see your pics.

Hopefully tomorrow when second wheel finished, well dry fit anyway!
I did notice, in your picture of your rear wheels, that you havent dry fitted the tyres. I did read on a thread on here, that if you dry fit them for a while, it helps to stretch them into shape.
I did dry fitted my fronts, it was fairly easy to fit them, when I come to fitting them permanently.
I have done my rear wheels the same, was just a thought as it might help you too.

Yes Chas it was me that mentioned it. I had nowhere to store the tyres and found by accident that leaving them on the rims until you are ready to fit makes life a lot easier. It's still a messy job whatever but that thou or so stretch makes wrestling the tyres on that little easier.
Glad everyone is getting on. Still no flywheel. Probably turn up just as I go back to work😑!

Hi Jim, I new I'd read it somewhere, have read most threads on here. You tend to find out things, either by accident ore trial and error.
It seems to work and its good that this forum exists, as we can share experiences we have come cross during our builds and pass them on to others.
