St Albans - Brighton 80 mile road run for Parkinson's UK - 13th June

That really is incredible work, quite surprised how little water and coal you burnt to be honest, hats off to you all and just goes to show how well produced the STW engines are and to your work on putting it together.
As for driving around in London.........well..........I hate the place driving a car, let alone trying to negotiating it on a 4" scenic

Going around Marble Arch the traffic was a bit busy, one car tried to cut us up & as I was on the outside I gave him a couple of taps on his rear wing just to let him know we were there!  He soon gave us a bit more space!

One thing I was impressed with was the Morris universal oil that Tim used, it could be used on the bearings and the lubricator. After 20 hours of running continuously, some of it at speeds well above its design, there were no knocks or rattles from any of the motion work when we got to Brighton. I've always used gear oil in the oil pots up to now but will now be using their universal oil as it looks & feels a bit thicker and doesn't run away so quick as gear oil.

I've only ever used it in my short time of ownership and wasnt sure when reading up on all the blurb folks go on about but felt the amount of running I was likely to do it was unlikely to cause any harm and it meant I didnt have to run about with two sets of oil cans or bottles. Sounds like I've made the right choice, if after an 80mile continous run it hasnt had any ill effects on anything
