Hello,
I signed up a few months ago for the October 2014 run of the 2" Burrell.although I have visited the factory, and was really impressed. Is there anyone near Hereford who is building the 2" kit or maybe have a fully built one running that I can have a look at? Regards
Mike

Hi Mike.
Another newbe, welcome.
The factory is a fascinating place to visit - I would highly recommend.
Hope you will also post up-dates of your build when you start (always nice to see).
all the best.

Hi Phil,
I went to the factory earlier in the year, which I pressed me. I booked my 2" back in May, so has been quite a long wait. It's given me a chance to get my workshop ready. I will post updates as I go. My only major concern is of painting it to a high standard. I constantly read the forum for other success stories and ideas. I have manged to locate a company that supplies llow tack stencil vinyl, so I can do do really accurate pin striping and design. I have been talking to a local sign printer who has cut the vinyl, as samples to the pinstriping patterns that I'm looking at. He can replicate the same design accurately, which is ideal for wheel lining. This has been successful. This is my first build so I'll be relying highly upon others experience. Kind Regards. Mike

Hi Steve,
I rang STW last week, and they confirmed that the first kits are due out at the end of November. I thought it was October, but I must have misunderstood. I guess I'll have to hibernate for another month.😱 Regards Mike

Hello,
Thanks for your contact. It seems like an eternity since I ordered earlier in the year. I can't wait to get started. If you are out and about next year, can you let me know when and where you are, so I can take a look at a working completed engine? Regards Mike😊

Hi Mike,

Certainly can let you know when and where I plan to take the engine.. No where exciting I expect.. Basingstoke Model Engineers Rally maybe, The Guildford Rally maybe, Twyford Waterworks maybe, and a smattering of fetes and hopefully the Winchester Cathedral Harvest weekend.. All depends on workload!

Thanks for that, It will be the closest to Hereford. Anyway, I'll look forward to seeing you.
Some of my weekends are taken up with my wedding photography,  which I attended, hoping to retire from, anyway I'll hope a free weekend fits with one of your days.
          Kind Regards
             Mike

Hi Guys,

Yes your first kit will be coming out this month.

Although this will sound a tad strange you will be receiving Kit 4 this month (rear wheel kit) and kit 5 next month (the other rear wheel kit). Up to the stage you receive your boiler the order you receive the kits in is pretty irrelevant as everything is built as a sub assembly (within reason as a kit 8 is no good without a kit 7) so please take no notice of the kit numbers. We were struggling to get the thick wall tube for the front wheels so we just manufactured the rears instead.

Hope you enjoy the build and #not long now until you start.

All the best

Dean.
