As I have got a shoulder problem and have difficulties with lifting things I am always on the lookout for anything which would assist me in and around the workshop. I have just purchased a Clarke hydraulic platform trolley, which is a cross between a four wheeled trolley and a hydraulic trolley jack. This trolley can lift up to 300Kg and there is also a model which will lift up to 500Kg, which is more than I needed. It now means that I can transport and lift items to a good working height with out any effort. The platform is raised by using a foot pedal. When my next 6” Foden lorry kit arrives I will get the driver to put the parcel on my new trolley and I will be able to wheel it into the work shop and to use the trolley to lift the box up to work bench height in order to unload it. For the moment I am using the trolley to do work on my daughters 2” scale Burrell and it is proving to be a great success. I wish that I had purchased one earlier.

The trolleys platform can be raised up to 3 foot from the ground.

May I ask you where you bought those neat plastic wheel blocks - I am wondering how to keep the engine secure when the table I lifted.

Hydraulic platform trolley Empty Blocks

I purchased my plastic blocks from my local caravan accessory shop. They were purchased for my 4” scale Burrell traction engine and are just about the right scale for that engine.
