Re: Finesse Lining Tape
can the finesse tape be brought round to do the fish tails easily?
I have been fussing over the style and how to do the lining for a while now, just cant make up my mind.

You might struggle with it but it's not impossible..
I didn't use this technique on my fish tails as i found it wasn't consistent enough. In other words non of the few fish tails i tried with tape looked the same which in scale looks naff.

Re: Finesse Lining Tape
With practice and great patience it is possible to "pull" the tape into fish tales but due to the fact that each one is done individually there is a slight degree of variation. However on my wheels I dont feel it is that noticable but a perfectionist or rivet counter may pick it up. There is also the method of using compass blades to cut consistent curves in clear masking tape which Sonic knows more about.
Spoke lining
Hi
I done the centre yellow on mine with the tape from UKpinstriping. Then used the beugler to do the red edges. Also doing this made the yellow perfectly centre and the reds even.

what size tape's did you use from UK pinstriping, Did you do both sides of the spokes and how much did you use

Tapes
Hi
Think it was the F12 3.17MM 4.76MM 3.17MM tape I used for the spokes. Then lined with the beugler middle one of the standard set.
I done both front and rear in this method. Creating the tails of the red by following the spoke flute round the edge of the spoke. At the hub end I put strips of tape at 90deg to the spoke to create a start and finish point.
