Cylinder Block Cladding
Problem.
The cylinder block cladding is the right size and shape. There are 6mm threaded holes tapped into the cylinder block to fit the cladding and the brass strips that run down the side of the cladding.
The cladding and the brass strips have been supplied with 4BA brass fastening screws and have had the correct hole sizes drilled to accommodate these.
Am I missing something really obvious here? Or do I just need to get some 6mm brass round headed machine screws?

Re: Cylinder Block Cladding
Hi
What kit number is that please. I will have a look at the design. I think there is inserts that get put in.

Re: Cylinder Block Cladding
Hi
Kit 23 instructions has the notes around the inserts.
"The cladding and brass bands are all held onto the cylinder using 6BA brass roundhead screws which screw into what I’ve called cladding threads (BU41456). These are M6 on the outside and have an internal 6BA thread. These need to be fitted to the cylinder by temporarily screwing in a 6BA screw and using this to screw them into the cylinder."

Re: Cylinder Block Cladding
Hi Lynn
It is Kit 14A.
Threaded inserts would do the trick but none were included in the kit or on the parts schedule. I perhaps need to wait until I get kit 23. Sorry for my impatience
Many thanks
John

Lynn
Thanks for that, problem all sorted now.
Perhaps for future reference the kit 14 instructions ought to make mention of the cylinder cladding and method of fixing, Just a thought
