Water leaks in tender
Hi, I'm new to the miniture side of steam and this will be my first build of one.
I've got the 4" burrell agricultural engine which is part built from a previus builder. The problem is I have leaks come from several places around the tender when I tested it with water inside
Does anyone know a solution to my problem
Thanks
Luke

Re: Water leaks in tender
Dry it out completely then paint the inside with POR sealer

Water leaks in tender
Hi Luke
Mark is recommending the same product that Steve at STW recommended in the original build instructions.
If you don't have the instructions Its Por 15 petrol tank sealer and if you get it on your skin you will be silver for at least a week so work out in the shed and wear gloves.
cover all holes with masking tape and if you have anything with a thread on it protect the threads as well because it makes them blinking hard to undo after the event and that is from experience.
some on the forum have painted the stuff on with cheap chuck away brushes but i used the chuck it in and keep turning then tip out the remnants method.
The stuff is available from Frost Auto Restoration on line.
