'Valiant' is running on air !
Finally 'Valiant' is running on air.
I'm hoping to put a fire in her next week - fingers crossed.
Best regards
Tim

Hi marek
Will probably be taking our Garrett 4cd to the quay as we steam it the 3 miles or so from home, saves all the loading and unloading from trailers etc... !!
Cheers Tim

Re: 'Valiant' is running on air !
Hi Mark,
I had a go at removing tubes on Garrett managed to get three out but the forth one folded up inside as i was winding it out with the threaded rod (absolute nightmare of a job!) so as there is only a dummy manhole on the side of boiler I could not get into to remove tubes that way, so its gone to an engineering firm to be retubed by them, hoping to have it back by the end of March.
Cheers Tim.
P.S. hows your DCC coming on.

Re: 'Valiant' is running on air !
Bugger, "there's always one", as they say, but I suppose it keeps it interesting, I was very tempted to see if I could pay a visit to see you doing them!
I am now really close to starting, my Dad went into hospital mid Jan, then, unexpectly died on 31st (best thing for him in reality, but wasn't expected) so that put things on hold for a bit, then I put my foot through the rotton floor of my shed, so that was cut out and replaced, just putting things back together this week, so I am really hoping to get some paint onto the boiler by the end of this month!!!!!!!!!
We'll have to sort out a visit both ways soon.
Have you been out on the bike? I got out for about 20 miles a couple of weeks ago, first run since I saw you Boxing Day.
Mark.

Re: 'Valiant' is running on air !
Hi Tim
Excellent, great to watch your video and see the engine coming to life, looking forward to part 2 with smoke coming out of the chimney. I'm about 2 weeks away from trying the same.
Cheers
