whistle on the engine
Hi All
on my engine the whistle will not seal on the seat and the ball it leaks air out of the pin is this right ? or should it seal and how can I stop this leaking ?

Hi Brian,
Mine leaked on air so I fitted a stiffer spring. This helped but still leaked slightly on air but it's fine when in steam once pressure is above about 20psi.

I wouldnt worry too much about the odd leak here and there, once its in steam it nearly always will be fine.
You'll also get the odd weep as its coming up but quite often they will stop once you've got some heat in it
I was a little worried about weeps here and there but my boiler inspector said its a steam engine, show me one that doesnt
