Hi everyone. It all started for me 45 years ago when mum and dad bought me a tiny Lesney showman's engine.  Years passed, toys came and went, but the little engine remained.  Although well worn now, it still stands proudly in our line up of models in the lounge.

Imagine my anticipation now as my partner "The Governer" and I keenly await kit no 1 of the Burrell 4" DCC road loco.  I have granted him "permission" to do some of the bits indoors affraid so he is a happy bunny.

Having looked around the STW site, I must say what fabulous engines you all have. Congratulations to you all.

Hi Liz,
That a catchy little user name your using!!
Welcome aboard, you have just joined "a right ol crowd" of steam enthusiasts, who it seems have a great array of talents among them!!
This project will be the best thing you've done for years & beleive me the results at the end are well worth all the effort. STW are one of the best "suppiers" I've ever had dealings with, so helpful & friendly!!
The only thing you could improve on is............ build the Showman's................. That'll get a few respoces:lol:
Regards,
Tony

PS. Only joking about the Showman's bit!!!

Hi Liz and welcome,

nothing wrong with a road loco, just think of the money saved in brasso!

more time to steam the engine too!

its a win win situation but then again I might be a tad biased:D

Welcome to the forum Liz and ignore Tony King's remarks about the Road Locos, damn fine engines if I do say so myself. Tony is still resisting putting a fire in his as it may get dirty!!! Twisted Evil

We have fun on here as well as the more serious side of building our engines. Mine was finished earlier this year and we have already racked up around 80 fast road miles on it, it is a road loco after all. Still need to get the motivation to finish my traction wagons though.

I look forward to seeing some progress from your house and see what colour scheme you choose and any embellishments/changes you make as you go along.

Cheers

Thanks for the welcome.  We are going to base "Macbeth" on The President, probably with our own take on the lining.  Mark "The Governer" on here has charged me with being chief photographer for the project study . Watch this space.   Although the garage extension/build workshop is yet to be completed, we are bringing forward the date of our first kit because we are too impatient Twisted Evil If there's one thing "The Governer" does like, is a good fettle Shocked
