Hi Everyone,

Counting down the days till i get my first kit. I am building the 4 inch scale Burrell Scenic Showmans.
I have already decided on the colour scheme for my model, it is to be based on Mike Dreelan's "DOLPHIN", and going to call it "MERLIN" after my tri colour Cavalier King Charles spaniel, who sadly isn't with us anymore, but was a good companion and friend.

I started building a 4 inch Burrell Scenic Showmans back in 2007, decided to sell my engine after becoming fed up with the many hours spent machining parts only to find they didn't fit, or had to be remade due to errors on the drawings. After following numerous builds on the forum, took the decision to start again and hopefully in three years time, will have a completed, working showmans engine.

Best Regards
Steve

Hi Steve,
Good to know that another showman's engine is going to be built.cheers
Mine is nearly complete & I can honestly say it's been one of the most enjoyable projects I've ever undertaken!!
Dolphin is a local engine to me & I used it as inspiration for my main colour, which if you use Craftmaster paints is "Dreelan Crimson", which Craftmaster did mix & supply especially for Dolphin!!

Here's a photo to give you inspiration!!!

Hi Tony,
Many thanks for the photo, I have many of my own which I took whilst at the GDSF, including many close ups of wheels, tender, belly tank and dynamo's.
I have been following both yours and Lynn's builds, and it's a real credit to you both.

Best regards
Steve

Hi Brian,

Thanks for your comment, all being well should know what kits I can have by the end of the week, been in touch with Dean, and he's got Mark checking stock to see what kits if any can be made up.
My plan is to purchase all the wheels, belly tank and tender, then to follow on with the monthly kits when supplied.

How did you get on driving the Showman's, next thing you'll be wanting one lol.
I have also decided to join the BSEPS, in readiness for when my engine's finished as I would like to exhibit at "Old Warden".
How's your engine going?.

Best regards
Steve.

You will have lots of fun with the build!
