Showman Lights Empty Showman Lights

Post  Brian M Sun 02 Jun 2013, 6:52 pm

Hello All,

I have just soldiered all the lights around the canopy. Once connected to a battery charger through the connector block the lights do not light up??????

Connecting the charger to one light it lights up nicely, but on the loop I get no activity. Has anybody else experienced this problem, if so what was the resolution?

Thanks,

Brian

Brian,

The current drain of all the lights may be too much for the battery charger, as chargers normally only have a very low current to avoid damaging the battery when charging.

I would try a car battery to give enough power to drive all the lights.

Did you scrape the insulation coating off the copper wire before you soldered the light wires to it? If you didn't, the lights won't work!!
I know because, I didn't!!!

Tony

I believe it s in the instructions. Yes you need clean copper to solder to. Some lacquer will decompose to a sort of flux if made hot enough.

You will also need a psu that can give 12v at 27 amps to get full brightness.
