Is STW booked for any of the 2012 steam fairs. Would be great to catch up with you all and see the control model again now it's almost complete.

Hi Rob,
Not 100% certain yet. But as long as our applications are accepted we will certainly be at:
Welland
Pickering
Dorset
Bedford
We might try and add a couple of other shows in that we don't normally attend. Somewhere in a part of the country we haven't been before with decent number of foot traffic. So any ideas would be welcomed.

Boconnoc
If you fancy a few days in sunny Cornwall then one of the most attractively set rallies has to be Boconnoc, when the weather is nice it's stunning set in a valley with a Grade 1 listed house that's been renovated by the Fortesque family. It's on the 20th-22nd of July, there's camping available for the week prior for anyone wanting a longer visit.

Ah yes my Father visits every year and always says its worth going down for the weekend. From what he says it's always well attended with plenty of engines both full size and miniatures. May drive down for this one myself as not going to make it to GDSF this year.

Boconnoc
There's usually plenty of space for the miniatures as for the last three years we have been sited up in the trees near the trade stands and fair. It's a nice (nearly level) piece of ground with our own entry into the main ring. Also we always like to have a few trips down to the house and then onto the lake which involves a long winding hill that gets really steep just before the bottom. It sorts the men from the boys when it comes to running a miniature and it's also a good chug back up again! The year before last Tim rustled up a fantastic lunch from his smokebox & we sat eating it in front of the entrance at Boconnoc House, ..........with the sun shining, engines ticking over, food & a beer what could be better?
PS the picture above my name was taken lakeside at Boconnoc about 5 years ago

You forgot to mention the mud
They have been unlucky with the weather the last few years.
It is a nice event though, we usually visitied when on holiday in St Ives and we got danielle on engines a couple of times by writing to them before we went - very friendly do.
