Here's Steve Traill's and my Kit 1 & 2 assembled and put next to each other. Steve is doing the crane version which has slightly wider fronts wheels and double tyres.

Thought you may like to see what i got upto tonight while the Mrs was out.....
The fish tails take ages but i'm pleased with the finish so far.
They need a little attention but i'll do that when they are dry.

Looks good so far. How are you acheiving those "fish tales"? Tape ? Brush ? or a mixture.

Hi
What shade of blue are you using and what make. looking good
What shade of blue are you using and what make. looking good
paint colour
Hi Kieth
The blue is RAL 5002 Ultramarine Blau
The Yellow is BS0003 Golden Yellow
They are both from colour charts with the numbers shown
I get them from a local vehicle paint supplier who mixes them for me.
I pay £15.17 a litre an mix them with 10% white spirit for spraying. They are on top of Tetrosil self etch primer which is mixed at 50/50
I painted both the Foden and MK 1 Burrell with the same paint and find it to be very durable.
As a thght arsed Yorkshireman I don't like the price of some of the other propriaty paints. I find this is as good if not better.
If you want the name of the firm which supplies me let me know.
Hope this helps Cheers Mike

Some real nice looking work all round here, if you all carry on in the same form as you've started, there's going to be a good few high quality lookin engines

Re: Photo's of 4" Customers DCC Burrell's
it's always nice to see the parts getting painted
we very rarely get our control models into paint and most of them end up looking rusty and dirty. i always thought it would be good to polish and treat them in some way so people can see all the different materials used.
looking forward to seeing the first finished tender
