Plating steel to prevent corrosion
Thinking of purchasing two metal coating kits from Frost Restoration. Chemi black (Satin) for those small little steel items that you want to keep rust free. Also a Nickel plating kit, i am concerned that the nickel will be to shiney.
Does anyone have any ideas/thoughts?
Thank
Craig

I have just bought the “Blacking” kit from Frosts - I haven’t used it yet but my intention is to do all of the parts for the fire doors. I will post here when I have something to show..

I have some of mine nickel plated, but it is limited to things like reversing leaver, steering column, gearshift rod, cylinder drain rod. Everything else is just bright steel kept that way with scotch bright pad and oil occasionally.
I do see some engines that have everything plated like con rods and valve gear and personally I find it too much, but thats just a personal thing.
