Steaming Instruction Empty Steaming Instruction

Is it possible to post the Steaming Instruction. It appears that these instructions were not included in my last kit. Possibly other Lykamobile builders may need them too.
Thanks,
Grier

Also the instructions references an ISO drawing for the pressure relief valve. It appears that this iso drawing is missing too. If this could be posted as a pdf along with the startup steaming instructions would greatly be appreciated. Hopefully this can be done soon?

Hi Grier

The steaming instructions are to follow as Ian is going to write them (have more experience with running steam cars than I do), unfortunately he was has been struggling to get enough time to do these whilst also trying to keep up with production. As soon as he is able to do so I will let you know. I will look into the safety valve ISO drawing for you

Many thanks

So if we don't have the Steaming instructions....I did the next best thing I could think of and tried to power my engine with compressed air. It turned out pretty well. Only a few leaks as far as I could tell, and mostly the leaks were in the oiling plumbing. I did have to apply steam seal to the regulator two halves, hopefully by tomorrow it will set up and I can try to see if I stopped it from leaking. Below is a video if I can figure out how to upload it. I should also note the engine is running in reverse, it seems to be a bit smoother in reverse than forward. I remember reading something about the Hackworth? valving system where this might account for the differences? Or possibly I need to fine tune the valving positions. Hope we get some guidance for this in our Steaming Instructions.

The Engines will run better in reverse and it is indeed because of the hackworth valve gear.

Many thanks

I have a copy of the instructions that were emailed to me. I uploaded the instructions to my google drive and anyone can open this link and copy them.

There is a typo in the steaming directions that everyone should be aware of. In the section for first steaming it says that the burner shut off steam pressure should be 275 psi, it should read 250 psi. This is because later it says the safety valve lift should happen at 275psi. Can’t be the same and later in the document they reference 250psi.
