Complete novice building 4" Burrell SCC
Having wanted to have a go at building a traction engine all my life I thought it was time to have a go (just turned 70). I visited STW back in Aug and found Craig extremely helpful and decided to sign up for the 4" Burrell SCC.
Kit 1 has been completed and painted and I am pleased with my efforts so far. There is a long way to go and its going to get a lot more complicated as time goes on so I will be relying heavily on the expertise and advice of you fellow builders to help me along, please.

I am also a novice when it comes to building a traction engine, although I have been involved with building cars, racing cars and motorbikes.
There is a lot of useful information in the threads and I have tried to get a thread going for some of the SCC kits, which you may find helpful.
Best of luck with your build - please post some photos/videos as you go along !

Hi and welcome aboard.
Remember a question is only silly if you already know the answer.
You will find everyone friendly and helpful around these parts so do not be afraid to ask.
Pictures and experience along the way. Just remember if it does not seam right. Study the instructions as you may have got something simply round the wrong way. There has been a number of production runs of all the range so the instructions are fairly sturdy now.
Again
