Trailer advice needed
Hi,
As I need to decide how to put my Road Loco and trailer into my yet to be purchased trailer I am looking for some alternative ways.
For certain reason I cannot use a normal box trailer with additional front door, I will have only a box trailer with doors at rear. The RL will be secured on one side similar to what I‘ve seen at others. But that leaves only very little space for the trailer. I can put it in, with about 100 mm both sides but won’t be able to tie down front as I cannot reach across the flat bed of miniature trailer.
So I was thinking about taking the trailer apart to ease storage - remove turntable and rear axle incl. springs - so I could store it upright or on the side.
Has anybody converted his trailer accordingly? I think to remember having seen that on a rally, but failed to take pictures or talk to the owner...
thanks in advance
Elwood

Re: Trailer advice needed
Hi Elwood
I use a long wheelbase hitop transit for my showmans and its quite a squeeze
The trailer is strapped vertically to the van side and the front and rear axel assembly are removed and fixed in the corner
it dosent take long to put back together

Hi Mark,
Is that a STW traction wagon? If so how do you manage to easily remove the axles? Just can’t get my mind around it.
Cheers

Re: Trailer advice needed
As far as I am aware its a STW wagon
The rear assembly comes off with 4 bolts and the turntable is held in with a R clip

Thanks Mark,
good news. Will check how to best store the traction wagon then.
You would not happen to have a picture?
Cheers
