Another Project Completed
Another thoroughbred from the Steam Traction World Stable.
How many parts?......this is only half of them.
" />
How many clamps?...... taken 4 of them off at this stage.
" />
Coming along nicely now.
" />
Proud as punch and on top of the world I am now.
Every nut has been changed to stainless, including the ones on the spring shackle bolts and the centre of the brake hand wheel.
This was a lot of work but relatively cheap(around £30 I think) and I think worthwhile for a Showman's kind of showmanship.
" />
Gotten connected to my new play mate.
" />
Now all I need to figure out is how do I get down of this bench.
Thanks Again Steam Traction World.

Re: Another Project Completed
When you constructed your traction trailer did you find that the brackets which hold the support posts for the front and rear boards, the holes were drilled in the wrong place/ wrong spacing as when I bolted the brakets on it caused the brackets to be bent in, thus not allowing the support posts to fit in the brackets.
I was wondering if you came across this and what did you do to overcome this. I was thinking that by increasing the hole sizes this would then allow the brackets to fit around the posts.

Re: Another Project Completed
Hi Steve
In short yes is the answer
I made the uprights TW40502 fit the headboard brackets first. They needed a small radius on the outer edge to follow the bend radius in the brackets.
My aim was to get the head and tail boards to fit at both ends of the trailer and all of the furniture line up, I also wanted the same thing with the sides.
The method was to build the head board first, then using the same end brackets make up the tail board so they are identical i then used one of the boards to mount the brackets on the other end of the chassis. If I remember correctly I did need to tweak the holes a small amount.
hope that helps but if not pm me a contact number and I will gladly talk it through.

Hi Simon,
Many thanks for your reply I was going to do a similar thing in getting the head and tail boards and iron mongery fitted then fit the brackets.
Kind regards
Steve.
