Toe in / Toe out for Front Wheels? Empty Toe in / Toe out for Front Wheels?

I shall set the front wheels parallel, ie. no toe in or out. ................ Unless there is different advice based on experience with previous Lykas. scratch

Toe in / Toe out for Front Wheels? Empty TOE IN / TOE OUT FOR FRONT WHEELS?

Post  Goliewogs Sat 05 Aug 2017, 1:53 pm

Hi Brian,
Yes I have set mine with no toe in or out (someone else did the same I think)! HOWEVER, there are other far greater problems in store - I shall be writing later with details! Basically, when you mount the wheels, you will find that the discs do not centre in the callipers! In fact mine foul on one side of the calliper (n/s) with the usual grinding noise, and the on the other side, the disc touches the calliper at the bottom but centres at the top!! So, something is badly out of alignment! I also think that the disc spacers need to be re-machined and have material taken off which would then at least allow the end castellated nut to be put on with the intended washer, and would also clear up some of the clearance problems!! Watch this space for more details!!
Regards
Greg

Just tried my front wheel the disc scrapes on the steering arm which could be ground down a bit when I came to put a caliper on the mounting holes are at least 3 mm out of line as if the spacer is sending the disc too far over has anybody else got problems

Futura,
Exactly the same problems as I have!!! I think the "spacer" is spacing too much - resulting in the disc being too far over in the calliper on the side away from the wheel! STW (Dean) is already aware of these problems! I will keep this thread updated when I have more news!

Hi guys,

A control model was assembled prior to sending this kit. I will get it checked first thing in the morning and update everyone further once this has been done.
