So with the Showman's very nearly finished and having just the final bits an pieces awaited from SWT towers and the canopy to fit, it was time to look at the next project.   I've always liked the idea of a roller, and when originally talked about expressed an interest.  Last year as we know the chance came along to build one when STW added it to the portfolio.  It was time to put my money where my mouth was and get my order in.

In the morning I pick up my first kit, and although it will be a week or two before I start work on it I am looking forward to the second build.

I can't decide on a colour scheme as yet, so need to get my thinking cap on.  One thing for sure is that it will not be as complex as the Showman's has been.

With the tender delivered I think I have chosen my colour scheme. I think I am likely to base it on Burrell Road Roller 4025, "Pride of Dorset"

I have lots of boxes and looking forward to making a proper start on the build.  I have built the tender and it is awaiting a second top coat as we speak.  It will be Crimson Lake with black, yellow, and red lining very similar to the above image.  I did consider following the same colour scheme as the Showmans, but decided against it.

I can't believe its been over 5 years since I last posted, lots has happened in that time which some on the forum will be aware of. The Showman's became frustrating and several months trying to get it running I lost a bit of motivation and its just sat in the corner looking sorry for itself until about a month ago, but thats a story for the Showmans Page in the Owners Photo's section. I will issue part 1 of an update over the weekend. Many will also know I didnt start the Roller as I didnt want to repeat the same issues.

HOWEVER the good news is that the Roller however has now started and the tender is in one piece.......Kit 1 almost there after many years on the to-do list.

I see there is a specific Roller Group now, so a quesiton to all you builders - Do you all still post your build progress in the Owners Photos page, or are you now using the specific engine page to post, is there a preference?
