Hi Tony.
Thank you for your kind comments.
Mr Craftmaster finest best red under coat (brushed).
Red is not the strongest of colours so had to put quite a lot of coats on plus sanding in between each coat, I think it worked well.
Will be finished off in bright red again from Mr. Craft.
It's only a dry fit at the moment just to see if it all fits.

Phil.

It may be a while until i can update mine, Ive got loads to do but the weather hasn't been very good for painting and now the Burrell engine i help look after is due for Boiler Test and then its rally season again so things will be slow to progress with, but any spare time spent on the engine is better than none at all, Ive nearly completed all the steering so that can be reassembled, the only thing im stuck on is what colour to paint the wheels

Here are two more pictures of Rosie, front wheel covers deburred and cleaned just requires de-greasing and painting.
The second picture is the front hubs painted (top coat) just need to clean the paint of the studs.

Just had a nice surprise today, kit 7 turned up (rear wheels and hubs plus all the fixings).
The surprise was no phone call to tell the kit was on the way - don't get me wrong I'm not complaining at all. It's nice to get a kit early, well done STW and many thanks.
Mind you the misses is starting to complain that she might have to move out if I get anymore large boxes - fingers crossed. 👍 Ha, Ha.

Thats good news you'll soon have a rolling chassis then, you are really catching me up now, I think my next kit next month is the Boiler so then i will be able to do a lot more building instead of just painting liek i am now.

Keep up the good work and keep those pictures coming

Thanks Russ.
I was thinking of putting stainless steel M5 dome nuts on to the wheel trim instead of the nuts. I think this would stand out nicely plus they would not need painting. That do you think?

Thank Phil, no worries glad to be of help, i carnt take all the credit as i saw "mikero" Foden at Dorset last year and he had them on his. What colour are you doing you wheels and trims, as you can see im leaving my wheels Silver and painting the trims the same colour of the Body Mid Brunswick green

You carnt see them but i have also removed the rubber valves supplied and fitted some metal ones to make the wheels look a little more older

I don't know yet, I might have to have a look around to see what other people have done to get some ideas.
The wheel covers are going to be painted bright red so may be something like yellow on the rims might work?

your thinking like Tom and Nick & Ken have Red trims yellow wheels, I was going to have red wheels and i did paint two on the front, but when i had to send them back to get some matching tyres to the rear i decided that silver looked better and added a little extra color to it

Mind you red and silver would look alright. It would make a nice transition between red wheel trim and the black of the tyre.

The steering and brake drum kit turned up yesterday so here are a couple of pictures.

SWB Foden build "Rosie" - Page 2 Steeri10

The steering took a bit of work with a file to get it to fit - lucky I only undercoated the frame because it took most of the paint off.

SWB Foden build "Rosie" - Page 2 Front_10

Fitted the tracking bar and wheel to see if there was enough space to clear the tire - had to make a small adjustment to the axle stub tracking/steering bar as it just touched in one place (hammer and piece of wood).
Have not tried the rest of the part yet (fingers crossed).

Hi Russ.
Thanks for your comment.
It was only just touching the tyre in one small spot. I bent the bar just a little to clear the tyre.
It only needed to move a couple of mm.
Has your boiler turned up yet?

Hi phil no boiler as of yet, but i did get a deposit 2 invoice so hopefully soon should see one arrive, mine was only touching a little bit as well but i had it moved so i could turn the bar around to make the two bars level
