Roofless Presidents

For all the President Rls out there! I spotted this on Traction Talk, posted by James Peter Brett:

"In my OPINION things that helped make President's character that have been lost
The strakes (fair enough, not nice of the road and understandable and I would be very tempted to put on rubbers to)
The old brass work (note the rather ornate star on the motion covers and the very basic stars on the cyl caps. These having been replaced with a simple, standard star, and full bright metal covers.
The addition of the canopy (I have not see a working day photo of this engine with one so far)
The addition of a smoke box step (I have never seen a working day or early preservation photo of this engine with this step)"
