Comparasion 4" DCC with 6" GMT
I just finished building a 6" Burrell Gold Medal Tractor to replace my 4" Burrell Agricultural and
since the 4" DCC and the 6" GMT are of comparable size and weight I took the chance to
snap some pictures of my GMT along side Kevin's DCC at the weekend. I am not sure which
is bigger but my GMT currently weighs in at 770Kg and is 35" W x 86" L x 60" H
Make no mistake my GMT is definitely 6" - big bits very close together in contrast to the 4"
DCC which has smaller bits further apart.
PS: previously loved 4" Agg "Little Beastie" is looking for a new home.

Re: Comparasion 4" DCC with 6" GMT
Hi Julia ,
I have measured my 4" DCC road loco 33"W x 78"L x 48"H have not finished the build as yet so do not know the weight.
I assume your pistons will have a larger diameter so should have more power at similar pressures.
Have you got more pictures you could post?
Best wish

Re: Comparasion 4" DCC with 6" GMT
Interesting comparison, I drove "Goldie" and as Julia said the control and layout is quite a bit bigger as it is scaled down only half rather than our third although the original engines are very different in full size. Nice engine to drive, not a bad choice for a model, Dean?

Surprisingly the 4" DCC has a slightly larger HP cylinder at 2.28" compared to the 6" GMT at 2.25" . The LP cylinders are the same both being 3.75". The 6" GMT has a slightly longer stoke at 4.25" compared to 3.94". I run mine at 200psi whereas the DCC runs at 170psi. None of these differences are that significant. I would expect both designs to be capable of great things. I have driven a couple of DCCs and I confirm they go. Like my GMT the top gear is capable of scary speed. Any more details on my GMT build have a look at the Traction Talk Form.
