Storing paint
I've ended up with 1/2 litre tins of paint drying up in the past. Good tip is to get some smaller containers to decant your precious paint into as the level goes down in the larger tins.

Re: Storing paint
Another my Grandfather taught me is to store the tins up side down....making sure the lid is properly secure that is.
With lining paints though I'm with Dan and to save opening them I put a screw in the lid and take out when I want to fill my little paint pots, a tip I picked up from Wayne Osborn.
