Steam Traction World Updates Empty FODEN WAGON

Post  gulfstream Sun 15 Jun 2008, 7:40 am

I have spent time talking with Steve at the recent Stapleford Park steam rally and now feel that great progress is being made towards a restart and I have given some assurance that there is a possibility of having a in-steam Foden by the time of the Bedford Steam rally in September.

Both Steve and Dean need all of us to give our full support to their new venture in whatever way we can.

Steam Traction World Updates Empty 71/4 Loco

Post  dickturpin Wed 09 Jul 2008, 8:47 pm

Hi Dean,
Very good news you have at last secured the business and wish you both all good fortune for the future. I wondered if you can now advise if we can purchase the A3 parts as in kit 17 that I understand are more or less ready. Also if it is unlikely that you will produce kit 18 can you advise the supplier of the dome and chimney so I can get them on order.

Kind regards Ian Dixon

Post  Steam Traction World Thu 10 Jul 2008, 7:58 pm

Hi Ian,

We now have agreement in place with a purchaser for the 7.25" gauge business. Nothing is signed or paid for yet but an old fashioned gentlemans deal has been reached so when we pay the final payment to the administrator for the business at the end of this month, he can purchase it off us.

His purchase will include all the 7.25" loco's designs plus the A3/A4 kits in stock, spares and any work in progress. The gentleman in question is an A4 customer with his own engineering firm and should be in touch in the near future.

I believe this is in the best interest of everyone.

Regards

Dean

Steam Traction World Updates Empty Re: 7.25" Loco business sale/purchase

Post  Bracken26bwr Thu 31 Jul 2008, 2:43 pm

Further to earlier posting on potential sale of 7.25" loco side
Now that the "end of the month" (June) has passed is there any progress to report?
I have a few parts missing from some of the A4 kits and would prefer to purchase from stock if poss.

Steam Traction World Updates Empty 5" Gauge

Post  Vapor Thu 31 Jul 2008, 10:32 pm

Hi Dean/Steve,

Is there any news of a buyer for the 5" loco side of the business, I know there is an offer for Duchess customers to visit the factory and buy what there is of what was to be the next kit out, I was kind of holding back first to see if a buyer came forward and secondly to to make the Duchess visit and Burrell boiler collection happen at the same time Wink

Steam Traction World Updates Empty Re: Steam Traction World Updates

Post  Steam Traction World Mon 04 Aug 2008, 4:33 pm

Sorry about the delay in replying, Steve and I have just returned from the Pickering rally so have not had access to a pc.

The person interested in the 5" gauge business has been in touch and is still keen. He has asked us to do a basic stock take so he has a better understanding of what he would be purchasing. This we both intend to try to do this week (when i really don't know as i untend to be back on a machine full time from tomorrow). As soon as this has been completed he has given us the impression he will make us an offer.

As soon as i know anything concrete it will be added to the forum.

All the best

Dean
