Little Leigh Steam Party - Leigh Arms Public House, Cheshire - 1st & 2nd October
An informal event this weekend in Cheshire and I wonder if Brian M and Flashback are going to be taking one of there showmans engines along as planned!!
How about it Brian, Dwane??
For those interested, Clive Hearsey will be there with his scratch built Burrel road Loco (very nice engine too) and he has promissed to shove Brian or Dwane's engine on a push pole.
There is even going to be a wedding bash for an engine owner too, they happy couple are expected to be going from the church to the pub on their engine, a 10 ton Fowler roller.

Push pole
Pulling around on a push pole. Unless they have a different parts list. The rear wheels are not actually attached to anything. so can float anywhere on the axel and off it as well.

Yes and pushing mine in and out of the trailer a few times they have wandered and caught the brake assembly on the spokes and taken great lumps out of the paint!!!
Wouldnt recommend it for any distance at all.

Just a quick update from the weekend. Dwain's engine stayed on the trailer, although he was going to use wooden spacers to stop the wheels from moving, but decided against it at the last minute. I did a couple of miles road run on the Sat to a local pub (Holy Bush) and another one on Sunday down by the river (thanks Rob for trusting me with your engine ).
Nice to see you there Brian, hope you and the family enjoyed the day (did not see you dancing at the wedding though).
All the best,
Brian M

We had a great time although to short as we had to go elswhere too, this event is definately marked for next year's calendar as is the Cheshire Steam Fair. Rob invited us to the boxing day road run if we can get there so let's see what we can do for more steam fix.
Did Dwayne dance or did he fail to get to the marquee from beside his engine for obvious reasons?
Cheers
Brian
I think I am going to get married again if I can do it this way!! Best wishes for the future to Lee, Sue and there two children.
