Went and did it again
I started this around 3 weeks ago after the last of the 5 kits arrived, a lot less work than the traction trailer but nevertheless an enjoyable project with very satisfying results as you will see.
The usual start after a couple of hours chamfering edges then sandblasting.

" />
A little construction later and it ended up like this.

" />
After a second round of grinding and sandblasting the results.

" />
A quick dusting and a 10 minute roasting at 180C (gas mark 4) YES that is all powder coating needs.

" />

" />
Round 3 of the big cleanup I think the neighbours must be getting fed up with the sound of the grinder now.

" />

" />
Well that was all the metal work with the exception of the hub caps but that's another story.
So it was on to something a bit more wooden and a little more neighbour friendly.
Fantastic bit of woodwork I did not need to ease any of the joints as they all went together first time no problems.

" />

" />
Unable to get the tow strap in the oven it had to be spray painted.

" />
Starting to put metal and wood together now and its relay taking shape.

" />
Steering and suspension.

" />

" />

" />
I was getting a little concerned about the length of the pivot shaft until I got to this point.

" />
Rear springs.

" />
It looks further on than it is at this point.

" />
The floor 30 slats with 8 edges each in need of a radius done with the router then all drilled and countersunk.

" />
Remember those pesky hub caps, well now I have found them and they are in for a makeover.

" />
After a little elbow grease and some garage alchemy, "bling bling"

" />
All dressed up and out for a final photo call.
