Yes that's how they should look, fit the end plates to the rods and do a trial fit on the engine.
Once you're satisfied they the end plates are on the correct rod and the right way around then use Loctite or Araldite on the screws and file flush once cured.

Hi Bryan
Yes as Capricon says. Trial fit then loctite and file smooth. Pay particular attention to the supplied arrangement drawing otherwise you may get one half going forward and the other half going backwards.
