Jimbos Windermere Kettle
I really must stop getting side tracked and get on with building the engine.
This time I've made a windermere kettle.
As you will see it's all out of stainless. The tube is 80Ø x 200 high.
The top is an end stop for the next size pipe. Fitted a treat.
I'll just add that the stainless came from Germany. They seem to have a better selection of sizes than we do.
Getting an idea what it'll look like on the belly tank or box. The inspection hole is so I can get access to the fittings
inside. Think I should have made it a bit bigger. Will still hold enough for two mugs of tea.
View inside. Bent the heating coil. 6mm copper tube wrapped round de-icer can. Just the right size.
Finished kettle. The tap came from China £6. Well pleased with that, just the right size. I added a drain to the steam supply.
Didn't fancy water sitting in it when it was not in use.
Decided to put a chain on the lid. Didn't fancy leaving it in a field.
I took the supply off the water lifter supply and then via a valve through the motion guard to the other side.

Re: Jimbos Windermere Kettle
Looking very nice indeed.
It is amazing all the variations on the kettle and the plumbing methodology.
I wonder if Crystal would like one made for her. Hummmmmmm

Go for it Lynn.
Bit of web searching for the materials and then find someone to do the welding.
But now with your contacts at STW shouldn't be difficult.
I think I saw somewhere on the forum that STW once produced a Windermere Kettle.
Might be good if they re-produced it as an accessory.
PS The DCC seat frame is coming along a treat.
