Hi Mark
You would definitely be invited to most event with a 4" Burrell roller as you exhibit. I for one have not seen a roller at any of the Scottish events.

Re: Getting Ready For GDSF
Thanks for this Lynn, great to see so many updates on the forum now you're there! I have another kit for the roller arriving Tuesday and loving every element of the build so far. Great to see this to get a real idea of scale. Better not show the wife though!

Very tempting to ask to have the second to last kit. What would my wife say, Ive only just picked up the first kit for my SCC and my very first build!

Re: Getting Ready For GDSF
Thanks Simon, they looked bigger than that on the pictures; maybe I can convince the wife it's not going to be 'that big'!

Good luck with the task of convincing ''her who will be obeyed'', I heard say if you cross your fingers behind your back that makes it OK.
the engine will not become big until you get kit 13 the boiler, then all the sub assemblies can go together, as long as you don't build it in the dining room you should not need to remove walls to get it out. I trust your assistant is still interested in the project.

He's still very much interested! We went to a steam rally a couple of weeks ago and he got to try one out for size!

Re: Getting Ready For GDSF
Hi all
The roller looks a bit on the long side at the moment. I hope to have a boiler barrel of the correct length mocked up before Friday. Then I will swap out the overlong SCC barrel and take more pictures.

Done some more dressing for Dorset. I must say she is looking good.
Painted the head stock and saddle to keep the rust beetle away. Polished the name plate ready for some drilling and attaching.

Hi
The tally is around 20 at the moment with a couple spare in the batch. But if demand is good that can be extended.

Re: Getting Ready For GDSF
We were trying different packaging methods over the last few days for the considerable weight of the head stock.
Due to the cost we need to make sure they go out very well protected.
