Scale Trailers
Hi All....
Just wondering how many builders/owners there are out there wondering if STW will do another run of traction trailers.
I would certainly be very interested in a couple.
It seems STW are no longer making them at present as the timber became too expensive to source and machine making it a non viable series of kits to make and sell.
It has been voiced that they may make a kit but leave the customer to source and machine the timber bits.
STW would provide the metal parts.
Would this be something others would be prepared to do?
I have access to machines and a skilled technician to finish the timber and for a small fee would be prepared to help others with the timber finishing if this is what is putting others off.
If I know numbers of those who would want a trailer/s I can go back to STW and see if they would put them back into production and provide a price.
Its worth asking I think.
Nick

Re: Scale Trailers
Well, I absolutely want a trailer, which I hope Steve took on board when I spoke to him, I am happy with metal, and sort the timber out myself, but I do feel, we need to get some firm numbers for STW, to convince them to get this into production.

Re: Scale Trailers
The best option of course would be for STW to do another batch of trailers and if the price had to go up then so be it but hopefully not by to much

Send me the steel, I'll supply the wood for mine. (You cannot import certain timbers to Australia, that's why my Boiler came in an "Ammo" box.)

Hopefully Dean is watching this thread and can let us know if another batch is possible

Re: Scale Trailers
Agreed, so Steve or Dean, what are the numbers required to do a trailer run, there have to be a fair number of us, I believe you started another production run of the RL/SHMN, part way through our run, so there should be a good number of us out here.

Re: Scale Trailers
i'm not sure Dean reads this or not.
When I was last up the factory I had mentioned it to both Steve and Dean again. Neither said no to a production run but wouldn't give a time scale.
As a business I guess it boils down to wether is worth it for them.
There is no point if its going to be too expensive or not an attractive option for customers to source and machine their own wood parts.
I suspect once Dean has priced up the options and has a package to offer we will hear first.
I'm confident it will happen lets just hope its sooner rather than later.
If this kit includes vulcanised tyres all the better.

Re: Scale Trailers
Not too many days now until Great Dorset, maybe we should go along "mob handed" for some gentle persuasion. I shall be there all week if anybody wants to meet up.

Re: Scale Trailers
Hi All,
The letters for the wagons went out to customers yesterday. Everyone should receive these today/tomorrow. The letter offers existing customers a £250 discount on the list price plus explains the kit break down, that the wooden kits are now optional and vulcanised tyres are now supplied as standard.
If you would like one of the wagons from the next batch please complete the enclosed order form and return it with the deposit required. There is also a letter about the bowsers in the same envelope.
Should you NOT receive a letter then please just let me know either by phone 01327 301030 ext 1 or by email dean@steamtractionworld.co.uk and i will get one out to you straight away. With so many customers nowadays its easy to run the report showing potential wagon customers and miss someone off without realising.

Hi Baggycanoe
I would suggest calling Dean in the morning and see if there is stock as the wagon is basically essential for driving a 2" engine
