NTET 60th Anniversary Road Run - 27th September 2014
As some of you will know it was the NTETs 60th anniversary Road Run last weekend around the rods of Bedfordshire, starting and finishing at the Old Warden site of the Bedford steam Rally 2 weeks prior to the run as it was organised by BSEPS. Tim Watson and I were entered flying the flag for STW and we both had a fantastic day (Tim will verify as he has done in his photo page) with both engines running superbly, we both did the medium length Red route which was marked as being 26 miles long. I set off around an hour after Tim due to "logistics reasons". I used a quarter of a bag of coal more than Tim as I had my bowser plus an extra wagon and passenger in tow but still pretty good going, one and a quarter bags of coal for Blackbeard and one bag for Frederick - all completed in big wheel with hardly any real climbs to worry about.
Here are links to lots of photos and a couple of the videos on line and for those that are not Traction Talk members here are some that are on there. Search NTET 60th in YouTube for more. My daughter has also taken some fantastic shots of the day too but I need to get some from her......
My thanks to David Collidge, David Bosworth, Colin Harris, Wizz Stearne and Ian Comley for taking the pictures of us around the route I have used here.

Re: NTET 60th Anniversary Road Run - 27th September 2014
According to the NTET web site, the red route was 28 miles and because of a road closure and diversion it was probably 29+ miles. One could easily manage such distances on a daily basis, but I must say I was pretty tired the next day!

Looking serious
I was was grinning & waving to the crowds all the way round I thought!! All the photos I've seen have me looking pretty somber, I'll have to work on that! It was a great day & with a bigger seat & smoother roads we could have done double that distance.
