Re: Ifor William Trailer and new winch
Hi Alan
Can not remember the exact size at the moment but they are rated above 2T SWL each. The chain is above this as well.
Each anchor point is also 2.25T rating.
So I am well under 50% of SWL rating of the system. The engine also sits against chocks and securing bar in the cargo rails.

Re: Ifor William Trailer and new winch
Dear Lynn,
I read your email some time ago and was very interested in your winch frame, have you still got
your draiwnig for it?
I have bought the heavy duty yellow battery and a warrior winch to fit to Ivor Williams trailer;
6'x 12' intenal width on double axles. Ref. GD125 c/w 6’ ramp for my 6'' foden steam lorry C type.
I like your idea of putting the battery under the winch and charging while driving.
At present I am intending to use the winch on the trailer and in the shed to pull the engine
back in place so need a bolted solution to the fixing.
Not yet quite there, need to do first hydraulic test and steam for the first time, but cannot
take the engine to club testing for check.
Regards peter

Re: Ifor William Trailer and new winch
Hi
Lynnr here. Sorry I never did any drawings. I just mocked it up to give me where the winch drum wants to live. Then built the framework in place welding as I went.

Thanks for the Reply Lynn,
Were you using a 50x50mm angle section for your frame for the winch mount?
