Does the break pad need to be glued to the band? we drilled the holes using clamps and i think that it will just make a lot of mess and make it more annoying when it comes to changing the material over if you ever needed to.

I glued mine. I think the material around the bolts would begin to tear after a while without the glue to stop it moving, its got about half a ton of force going into it, like trying to stop a car with one pair of brake pads.

Hi all
I "glued and screwed" mine and after 2 seasons rallying there hasn't been a problem. I also fitted a "return" spring to the brake band to help it to release.

Hi Mike
As promised a pic of the brake return spring.  I just tied the actuating lever back to underneath the towbar.
