smokebox paint

hi everybody can somebody advise on where would the best place to get heat proof paint for the smoke box and chimley from please

I use B&Q Pastikot satin stove paint. Appears to work quite well.

I used satin barbeque paint, never had any problems.

I used the satin black VHT paint from Frost.

Smooth Hammerite on bright metal: worked well on an engine that has done some pretty hard work.

However, all paint will burn / flake off if the chimney gets very hot. On my engine, the metal has become blued with the heat transfer. I think it is important to keep the paint oiled ahead of very hard work to keep it flexible so that it can shrink back to the metal on cooling.

to all the plasti cote users I read on the back of the bbq paint can that it has to be 'cured' within 8 hours of painting. Did you and how?

I put my smokebox in the oven for a couple hours.

I was worried that was going to be the general answer, mine isn't a new build so the smokebox is on the boiler, also not sure if the chimney would go in anyway...

Set a fire in the smokebox and cook from the inside?

I did wonder about putting the chimney and base back on the smokebox and using a propane burner aimed inside but not sure if
a) the heat would be too 'localised' and the paint ending up in patches of different colours/shades.
B) the boiler would be damaged as there is no water in it (the engine is fully stripped for painting and is currently a boiler with smokebox and cylinder block)

Just spray it dont touch for at least week or longer if you can, works for me.
