Re: I spy with my little eye.......the sample flywheel!!!!
Whoa, I'm still trying to get through the last two kits
Moving house sometime in July now as well, where will I find the time to finish. I need to get Blackbeard's reer wheels back on with the winding drum and the gear guard then I can move him to his new home!!!
IT DOES LOOK GOOD THOUGH - AND HEAVY, HOW MUCH DOES IT WEIGHT DEAN??

Re: I spy with my little eye.......the sample flywheel!!!!
No idea of the weight and as it's now fitted and we are off to Holland tomorrow with the engine, i'm not removing it to find out . It does make turning the crank over a whole lot easier though!
Re: I spy with my little eye.......the sample flywheel!!!!
Does "sample" also include delivery of the rest for stock?? Or do you have an idea of the lead time if not? Not that we're impatient or anything.... theres only 16 weeks of the rather short and sporadic english summer left That does however look very sexy and finishes the engine a treat!!
It also makes the wait even more difficult Am I right in thinking I can spy the casting for the gear change in there too??

Kev,
Gear change castings plus a few others are already all in & half the flywheel castings are on there way (so we've been told).

Re: I spy with my little eye.......the sample flywheel!!!!
Great to see it fits with the rear wheel. On ex-mayor the inside tread of the tire has been cut away to give clearance. Not sure how it been done, but I think this will look much better and I was not looking forward to making it fit.
Now to learn how to paint the line round the flywheel so when it spins it's not all over th place

Flywheel paint!
Yah, I've been thinking about how to get that perfect "unwoberly" set of lines on the flywheel.......... I reckon it'll have to be done on the engine so you can turn the crank, while the paint is applied some how, from a fixed point, like a jig fixed to the wheel......... I think Lynn's sugestion of cosuming lotsa beer to help you relax may be better drunk after the lines are on

Re: I spy with my little eye.......the sample flywheel!!!!
Any news on the delivery of the first batch of flywheels and whether they meet the exacting standards of STW??
Re: I spy with my little eye.......the sample flywheel!!!!
A large consignment of parts arrived today but unfortunately there were no flywheels, however the good news is we were told a second consignment containing the flywheels will be with us this week.
Re: I spy with my little eye.......the sample flywheel!!!!
Are there any front axles in this consignment? I could do with kit two.

Fingers crossed also there are some rear hubs in there for the last wheel. Really looking forward to getting them all in top coat and lined.

You'll be pleased to know that there was some front axles and the hubs for the rear wheels will be in with the Flywheels on Friday
