Re: Next DCC kit??
Hi Tony,
I'll see if Craig can add few pics later today. So far this month both him and Mark have been exceptionally busy (and will be even busier next month) and haven't really had time to stop to do anything other than machining. We've re-organised the whole factory so they can concentrate on nothing but making parts as they used to be invloved in material cutting/sorting and checking stock plus numerous other tasks. Added to that we took someone new on to help on the machines who's then had this week off at short notice as his Dad passed away.
This does mean that photo's may be a little scarce over coming weeks but i'm sure Craig will do his best.

Re: Next DCC kit??
just a quick word before you start on the new kit...
it would seem that the whistle body has been sent out with a hole missing. but don't panic, we do have the holes in stock.
we could send the holes out for you to fit yourselves but to be honest its a bit fiddly so probably best to return the bodies to us to sort out.
this will only apply to any kits sent out in the first dispatch on Monday. the rest will already have been sorted.
sorry about this folks
if anyone does want to try fixing this themselves I'll get some details on hole size etc.

Re: Next DCC kit??
Found the location for the missing hole. Screwed in fitting in the valve housing. Looks like a simple drill trough from the bottom.
Whats the postage on the missing part?

Re: Next DCC kit??
Talking of holes this kit fills up nearly all the ones outstanding Apart from the pressure gauge we could virtually do a cold test now. I happen to have a Barkers siren which is threaded at 1/4 BSP and picked up a 1/4 1/4 coupling today meaning I can close that one up too. Could also get a couple of plugs from the plumbers for the boiler and were off!! With the safeties on it, it is sooo tempting to light a fire in it. I know they say patience is a virtue but I'm not sure I want or even need a virtue!!!
On a slightly different subject did anyone else find that the coupling for the the blower valve just caught the edge of the exhaust flange meaning it didnt go right home?? Lynn yours looked like that. Also did I miss a half nut on the LP side of the cylinder studs as the exhaust flange gets snagged on that meaning I can only get the stud in on one side and the other side wont go down low enough, a half nut would cure it or just a slight tough on the grinder to give a small nick in the edge.
Spoke to Steve earlier and I will run a drill through the whistle base, I may not be much of an engineer but that small job doesnt seem like it should present any real issues ( famous last words there, just watch and see if I don't manage to drill right through the damm side of the thing )

Re: Next DCC kit??
Hi
I ground off the edge of the blast pipe flange on the block by just enough and took the lower edges off the fitting to allow space to tighten up fully.
It was a quick macro shot using hand held and a 40w bulb.
